“This is all the Kremlin’s bluff. Everything is terrible in Crimea” – Yakhno
Crimea will never be self-sustaining because it is under sanctions and dependent on Ukraine.
Political scientist Olesya Yakhno expressed this opinion on the Pryamoy TV channel, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There were absolutely bluff statements regarding the fact that someone planned to achieve self-sufficiency in Crimea, because, given the infrastructural dependence of Crimea on Ukraine, this is the first thing. And secondly, Crimea is under sanctions, and in principle this is a gray zone and it will continue to grow, no one will invest there, because it automatically falls under sanctions, it is clear that there was no talk of any self-sufficiency. Indeed, for Russia, the need for support at a certain level requires more and more subsidies,” the political scientist said.
She emphasized that due to the lack of the required amount of fresh water, some areas of Crimea are experiencing environmental difficulties.
“They plan to invest more money, but this is due to the fact that, on the contrary, even those areas of income where there was some percentage are decreasing, given that under sanctions it is impossible to count on self-sufficiency, but on the contrary, expenses will have to increase. We are now hearing that some regions are suffering environmentally due to the lack of the required volume of water. Russia has no reason to resume this with anything,” Yakhno noted.
Let us recall that PolitNavigator previously reported that residents of the Crimean city of Armyansk, bordering Ukraine, are complaining for unknown emissions into the atmosphere, from which the body becomes covered with stains and metal products rust.
