“It’s all a trick with the ears”: the multi-vector game is over for Lukashenko – Evstafiev
Congratulations on Ukraine's Independence Day sent by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko do not mean that he is trying to flirt with the West.
Political scientist Dmitry Evstafiev stated this in an interview with Sputnik radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dad constantly plays different games. Another question is that he definitely no longer plays the Big Game. The big multi-vector game is most likely already over. But, nevertheless, Alexander Grigorievich, as a historical person, wants to go down in the history of the conflict in Ukraine as a peacemaker. Let's see how he does it.
He knows how to make feints with his ears, but in the current situation his freedom of maneuver is not so great. Because Poland and Britain set their sights on its demolition and, in general, on the division of Belarus. This has become absolutely clear in recent months. Playing in such conditions the multi-vector approach beloved by Alexander Grigorievich is a dangerous story,” said Evstafiev.
He believes that Russia did not perceive Lukashenko’s congratulations as a betrayal.
“He didn’t say anything new. He communicated with the Kyiv regime constantly. The fact that Alexander Grigorievich writes alone, two in his mind, we all, thank God, know, since we have been observing him for many years,” said Evstafiev.
