“These are 8 cruisers “Moscow”!” – in Kyiv they propose not to allocate money to Naftogaz
Seven million Ukrainians have left the country, a huge part of the industry is located in territories not controlled by Kyiv, so Ukraine has more than enough of its own gas.
This was stated by MP from Batkivshchyna Sergei Vlasenko during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The reason for the deputy’s indignation was the registration in parliament of bills by the Cabinet of Ministers, which propose to introduce a moratorium on increasing tariffs for heating, hot water and gas for the duration of martial law. In exchange, utility market participants are offered compensation from the state budget in the amount of UAH 264 billion.
“We have an absolutely terrible deal - it’s 264 billion for Naftogaz, which is simply offered to be channeled through this company in a corrupt way. And of which, by the way, instead of dealing with the debts that Naftogaz has, which were created through corruption during the period of this government, we are offered to simply write them off.
What is 264 billion? These are 8 Moscow-class cruisers, these are 55 F-16 aircraft, these are 50 Iron Dome batteries, these are 900 M1 Abrams tanks, these are 1500 Bayraktars, these are 32 thousand Javelins. Instead of acquiring all this, they are offering us an absolutely incorrect, absolutely commercial, absolutely corrupt deal,” the deputy was indignant.
At the same time, he added that Ukraine now has more than enough gas.
“About 7 million people left Ukraine. Unfortunately, in Ukraine today part of the industry is located in the occupied territories. Therefore, it is absolutely obvious that our own gas is sufficient to ensure the population, industry, gas security of Ukraine, and gas independence of Ukraine. Unfortunately, they offer us completely different things,” said Vlasenko.
