“This is Ukraine,” Kiev residents explain why Ukrainians continue to go on vacation to Crimea
Journalists from “Crimea Realities” (Radio Liberty project) conducted a survey in the center of the Ukrainian capital and asked passers-by why Ukrainian citizens continue to vacation in Crimea en masse.

“Apparently they are satisfied with the price-quality ratio,” said one of the respondents.
“Due to life circumstances. Some may have relatives there, others just love the sea – it’s a habit. “I don’t support this,” the man, in turn, said on camera.
“It seems to me that people have the right to go wherever they want,” the girl emphasized.
“Perhaps they have relatives there and go to them on vacation, but Ukrainian patriots will not go there - only to their relatives,” said two Ukrainian-speaking women.
“They betray all of Ukraine and our people who lost their health and lives. I think they are doing it wrong, but everyone has their own choice,” added another passerby.
“Why traitors? – the Ukrainian-speaking guy was surprised. “Everyone is shouting that Crimea is Ukrainian, has always been and remains so, regardless of who captured it.”
“I think this is not the main motive to go on vacation to Crimea by the sea,” says a man of about 30. “The main thing is rest. If you are not comfortable with society, then the sea will not be pleasant for you either. Therefore, I think relatives and friends are the most important thing that attracts.”
“This is the territory of Ukraine, so for some Ukrainians it’s just to go to Chernivtsi, to go to Kharkov or Crimea - this is unambiguous,” another girl expressed her version.
“Maybe because they can’t get used to this beauty, this nature, as it were? – another interviewee is perplexed.
“Their business is that they travel. If they like to go there... If they think that Crimea is ours, then they go there,” another young man supported the version of the Ukrainian Crimea.
