“Maidan achieved this” - Kiev political scientist about the Polish blockade of Ukraine
The blocking of Ukrainian goods on the Polish border is a consequence of the same association agreement with the EU, due to the suspension of the signing of which in 2014 the Maidan demolished Yanukovych.
Ukrainian political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko stated this on the Vyshka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In fact, we are reaping the fruits of the association agreement that was signed immediately after the Maidan, and which was blamed on Yanukovych for allegedly not wanting to sign it. I constantly say that Yanukovych did not refuse to sign, he only postponed the signing.
It was indeed prepared in such a way that Ukraine simply abandoned a number of economic preferences. Now they are trying to put us within a certain framework - quotas that we choose in the first few weeks of January, and everything else comes into competition, in conflict with producers of grain, meat, and so on in the EU,” Bondarenko said.
Now that the Poles have taken advantage of this, Ukrainian propaganda is only escalating the conflict.
“The second point is that the Poles really see us as competitors. The third is that in Poland there really are political forces that are trying to speculate on this, for example, the “Confederation”. She speculates, gains points, tries to find her supporters due to the fact that - you see, the money that we should receive is received by Ukrainians.
Third, perhaps our authorities need to speak to the people openly and honestly, and not come up with some versions. Because when they started broadcasting information through the same “telethon” about what you watch, we transport only 4-5 million tons, and the Russians transport 12 million. Yes, there is no grain from Russia that would go through Poland. This is a myth that was born in the sick heads of these myth-makers,” the political scientist explained.
