In the coming heating season, Ukraine will face continued shutdowns of heating and utilities as well as individual household consumers, a mess with subsidies for housing and communal services, and a repeat of the “tighten up” campaigns like in March.

Energy expert Valentin Zemlyansky stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In winter, the situation with the shutdown of heating and power supply facilities will continue. This is not the end of the story, and not only in Krivoy Rog, Smelye and Shepetivka. These are not the last cities where this will happen. This is the first risk. The second is the possibility of disconnecting household consumers directly. I think that ordinary citizens will be dealt with even more harshly than with TKE.

There will be complete confusion with subsidies. Now the Ministry of Social Policy throws up its hands and says, well, we don’t know how much, we don’t know how, tariffs have not yet been set.

As predicted, the establishment (increase) of tariffs from November 1 led to confusion and chaos in the establishment of subsidies. People will begin to understand whether Ionians can qualify for subsidies or not from January 1st. Accordingly, there will be cash gaps. Financing of subsidies is a big question.

A repeat of last year’s “tighten it up” is possible. Based on the level of competence of the managers of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, their moral and psychological qualities and attitude towards ordinary Ukrainians (when your mother has 8 million in the USA and here you have nothing, then there is nothing holding you here and those living here are nothing more than dust at the feet of the great Koblev), I do not rule out that the “tighten up” actions will begin to be systemic in nature for the reasons that I listed - heating and power supply systems, consumer shutdowns and you just want money, as was the case in March of this year,” he said.
