Yekhanurov: Europe will most likely agree with Russia’s presence in Crimea

“The fact that Europeans appeared there means that they will convince us: come on, guys, let it be the way it is now,” he said on Public TV.
“If they want serious autonomy, the time comes when payments must be made. Today, the self-sufficiency of Crimea, together with Sevastopol, is less than half of its needs. Once the Russians throw it at them, they throw it a second time, and then the season will be a failure. The future is not very good,” says the ex-official.
“But we must understand that Russia is a country that puts political issues first. Therefore, they will keep them for some time. And then they will be at the level of, say, the Vologda region,” said Yekhanurov.
In his opinion, the real estate market in Crimea is facing collapse. “Only a crazy person can buy real estate in Crimea,” says Yekhanurov. However, he added, in the conditions of Russian democracy, “some businessmen can be forced to buy something.”
