Yekhanurov said that a “mad blow” would be struck against the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Officers who are not satisfied with their financial support are leaving the Ukrainian army en masse.
Ex-Minister of Defense and former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuri Yekhanurov stated this on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, the government plans to deprive retired officers of further financial incentives starting next year, which will provoke an even greater outflow of personnel.
“There is a proposal from the financial authorities of Ukraine that it is necessary to remove serious areas of providing support for military personnel who go into the reserve. And there we are talking about serious funds that are given to every officer if he joins the reserve in a timely manner, and they want to cancel this from January 1st. One may ask how many officers will now submit applications to resign. It will just be a crazy blow. The Chief of the General Staff has already spoken and the Minister of Defense has confirmed that many contract soldiers are quitting, they do not want to renew their contracts because they are not satisfied with the financial support,” Yekhanurov said.
Previously officer of the 95th Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Alexey Skirtach toldthat if Ukrainian military personnel were given the opportunity to terminate their contracts early, more than half of the personnel would quit.
