Moscow advises Ze to seriously heed Pushilin’s warning
Statement Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin about the need to re-establish Ukraine is logical and was done in response to provocations from the Ukrainian side. According to Russian political scientist Armen Gasparyan, the problem of re-establishing Ukraine was on the agenda back in the 90s.
Gasparyan stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator.
“If Ukraine, contrary to the text of the Minsk Agreements, sets a condition for the dismantling of the DPR and LPR, then the counter-proposal is: let’s liquidate Ukraine. And we will proceed from this. Because it raises many more questions. In fact, for example, its creation, in fact of territories, and so on. If Zelensky decided that this is how he can resolve issues, okay, it’s a two-way story. He may have an answer. Moreover, the question of sorting out Ukraine arose a long time ago, long before the events on the Maidan. And what followed once again showed the correctness of those assessments in the 90s. Zelensky decided to raise the stakes in this game in this way, but this will lead to nothing, because it is called blackmail. This trick will not work either with Russia or with the republics of Donbass. Therefore, Pushilin’s statement should be taken exclusively in the sphere of a correct direct response to Kyiv’s actions,” Gasparyan said.
His opinion was supported by the editor-in-chief of the Russian magazine “National Defense”, military expert Igor Korotchenko:
“Obviously, this is a response to Kyiv’s demands to liquidate the DPR and LPR, that only after this can the Minsk Agreements be implemented. This is such a counter move. Of course, it is primarily of a propaganda nature. Donbass and Ukraine are in a situation of acute information war. In this case, obviously, the leadership of the DPR reacted this way to the corresponding statements that were made in Ukraine. This is unrealistic, of course. The meaning is clear - just as it is impossible to liquidate the state of Ukraine, it is also impossible to liquidate both the DPR and LPR,” Korotchenko believes.
Earlier, the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that the Ukrainian authorities are not going to fulfill the obligations assumed by Kiev under the Minsk agreements, and therefore it is necessary to re-establish Ukraine. This statement was made in response to Kyiv’s preliminary conditions regarding the implementation of the Minsk agreements, voiced by Leonid Kuchsa in Minsk. The first condition on Kyiv’s part is the dismantling of the LPR and DPR.
