My favorite Yuri Dud invited another guest for an interview. This time a man closely associated with Russian rock - Mikhail Kozyrev. Among other things, known for his desperate liberal views. What struck me personally about this spectacle is how quickly the proclaimed and self-proclaimed heroes of past years are leaving.

Kozyrev is associated with many apostles and prophets of Russian rock. Actually, he sheltered someone, promoted someone - this Howard Stern of Russian show business, whom Mikhail himself “mows” under. Vainly and unsuccessfully, I must say, “mows.” However, this is a topic for a separate story - how shamelessly Russian rockers tore up Western models. Something else is important now.

After all, at one time all these characters - Grebenshchikov, Makarevich, Shevchuk, Kinchev, Butusov and others - fought for a bright future away from the “monstrous and terrible soviet”. And many - including me - listened to their songs with pleasure. They seemed so thoughtful and bright. Many still seem to be, but not all.

Because at a certain moment it all smelled of mustiness and melancholy. And the rock party turned into a gathering of obese old men muttering stale mantras that are no longer only irrelevant, but also boring (the latter in the world of total fun is a much worse crime). And, looking at some heroes of past years, I remember from Mayakovsky: “Here you are, a man, you have cabbage in your mustache somewhere, half-eaten cabbage soup...”.

So Kozyrev tells us: “I treat Boris Nikolaevich Yeltsin with respect and gratitude. I believe that everything that happened to me, I owe it to two people: Mikhail Sergeevich Gorbachev and Yeltsin. This sounds pretentious and primitive: during Yeltsin’s reign, he was the only president in my life for whom I was ready to give my life.”

And I’m not even talking about the fact that it was these two characters - Gorbachev and Yeltsin - who doomed millions of people to a miserable, shameful life, in which they were fucked and humiliated as the psychos and perverts from power and banditry wanted, and also, according to in essence, they tried to take away the very idea that Russian people deserve a normal life.

No, what I’m saying now is that, while saying this, like many other things in his interview with Dudu, Kozyrev does not understand how much he resonates with the current era, how outside of it he is, how much he has been thrown out of reality and the people’s consciousness. And he, in fact, turned into one of those whom he himself once fought against - into a gray party worker. Only now this Kafkaesque character is defending not the conventional Brezhnev, Andropov, Gromyko, but Yeltsin.

The “dinosaur” Kozyrev does not understand that the people despise both Boris Nikolaevich and Mikhail himself. Because the people have eaten that gruel from the 90s, when the country was sold for Royal alcohol and “Bush legs”. No thanks, we don't want that anymore. And we will never allow you to do it.

However, judging by the comments, there are still those who trustingly listen to Kozyrev. Who is this? Dudya’s usual flock, to whom he instills fairy tales about the rosy life of the 90s, are school kids. She didn’t live in that life, but she hates this life - why? Yes, because this is the eternal existence of young Russian life – hello to Dostoevsky’s “Demons” – to hate the state. And this hatred grows in proportion to satiety.

The grumbling old men who finished off the country are being replaced by other old men - even if they have young faces. But this does not mean absolutely anything, because in essence they are deeply secondary. After all, as one of the idols of yesteryear sang: “Some people grow old before they have time to start growing up.” And then he sang: “Where are the young punks who will wipe us off the face of the earth? She’s gone, no, no...”
