Epiphanius saw a good sign in Bartholomew’s message in Ukrainian
The pronouncement of the patriarchal message in Ukrainian during the Easter service at the Phanar in Istanbul is a “good sign,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is the opinion of the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, subordinate to Constantinople, Metropolitan Epiphanius expressed today on Twitter.
“The sound of the Easter message of the Ecumenical Patriarch in the Ukrainian language is respect for the local Ukrainian Orthodox Church, for all Ukrainians who have taken the path of unification in a single church. This is a good sign, testifying to the correctness of our path to God,” he wrote.
The fact that the patriarchal message was first heard in Ukrainian on April 28 was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Andrey Sibiga.
