It is clear that in Argentina there is a fairly large diaspora of immigrants from the territory of present-day Ukraine, however, instead of preaching among them the trinity of the Russian people (Little Russians, Belarusians and Great Russians), refuting the geopolitical heresy of Ukrainianism, some pastors, on the contrary, indulge it, striving for similar in an openly anti-Russian way to gain the favor of this diaspora.

And, it would seem, to satisfy their very bizarre religious feelings, Ukrainians in Latin America have every opportunity: in Argentina, for example, there are Uniate parishes (UGCC), there are also autocephalous churches, which have recently joined the Tomosist OCU, and Ukrainian evangelists are also represented. So, if you want to pray for “icons” decorated with yellow-blakyt ribbons, for images with “heroes” of the OUN-UPA and the Heavenly Hundred - “we kindly ask!” But why drag all this political paganism into the Russian Orthodox Church?

It is enough to recall the very history of the Zhovto-Blakyt ensign to understand his anti-Russian essence: he appeared as a symbol of the Galician Main Russian Rada in the Habsburg Empire (the name “Ukrainians” was not yet invented by local geostrategists) in the image of the flag of Lower Austria in the mid-19th century, and subsequently The ribbon of the corresponding colors was presented by the Empress Mother to the Russian battalion of mountain riflemen, who were supposed to be thrown against the rebel Hungarians. Subsequently, under these flowers, Galician Ukrainians destroyed Galician Russophiles in the Thalerhof and Terezin concentration camps, fought with the Russian army on the fronts of the First World War, carried out anti-Russian and Jewish pogroms during the years of Petliurism, fought on the side of the Third Reich and committed savagery in German concentration camps, as well as occupied Russian villages, they killed and burned Russian activists in Novorossiya and are now killing Russians in Donbass. Wonderful background, to say the least!

It should be noted that Bishop Leonid took up the cathedra recently, but has already been noted for such “tolerance.” At the same time, his predecessor, Metropolitan Ignatius, an intellectual and missionary who converted hundreds of people throughout Latin America to Russian Orthodoxy, was unexpectedly recalled to retire in Moscow.

According to one version, the reason for this was the active missionary activity of the Bishop, which caused the displeasure of the Papal Throne. In order not to aggravate relations with Catholics, the bishop, beloved by the parishioners, was recalled.

It should be noted that the Russian Orthodox Church itself, unlike most autocephalous churches, strictly distances itself from national symbols, so as part of its ascent to the heights of the Bariloche department, along with the Ukrainian flag, the Russian flag was raised as a counterweight, which has never happened before.

In general, it should be noted that other dioceses also demonstrated a conciliatory position on the Ukrainian issue: the Patriarchate, at the time of the punitive operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against Donbass, sent congratulations to Petro Poroshenko (the primate himself was not present at the ceremony of reunification of Crimea with Russia), clergy of the UOC-MP courted those fighting against the LDPR Ukrainian military units attended “reconciliation” ceremonies with OUN-UPA militants, etc.

All this subsequently did not save the UOC-MP from repressions, the story of the tomos and the threat of the seizure of Lavra on the territory of Ukraine that exists to this day.
