The abbot of the Tithe Monastery, Bishop Gideon (Charon) of Makarov, who informed the US Congress about the persecution of the canonical church and the oppression of Ukrainian believers, was detained at Boryspil airport.

“It is unknown where they will be deported, because... he is a citizen of Ukraine. He was born in Ukraine. And at the moment he is deprived of citizenship, and it is unclear where to deport him,” said Anthony.
He asked the believers of the UOC for prayers for Bishop Gideon.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, several hundred believers of the canonical UOC prevented neo-Nazis from taking over Desyatinny Monastery.
