The EU excluded mention of partnership with Russia from the foreign policy document
There is no consistency in the current relations between Russia and the EU, says Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“We did not find the word “partnership” in the new document on EU foreign policy, although it was there before. It says that the development of relations with the Russian Federation is a challenge for the EU. We need to answer in the interests of our peoples how we will live further. We will look for compromises or impose our point of view. The ideological dispute is escalating in Europe, and we do not want Russia to be drawn into it,” Lavrov said at a joint press conference with EU foreign affairs envoy Federica Mogherini.
According to Mogherini herself, “it would be unrealistic to consider each other strategic partners and at the same time maintain sanctions.”
“Our bilateral relations are not frozen, my visit here is a good demonstration of this. We have been strategic partners for many years and we would like to return to this situation. In many ways, our interests coincide. There are also issues in which we cooperate and intend to raise this level of cooperation,” Mogherini said.
