“The EU doesn’t need the Russian market? You won't get it! Or bring Ukraine to reason"
The adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the scandalous law “on the de-occupation of Donbass,” which crosses out the Minsk agreements, should not come as a surprise to the European Union. Political scientist Alexey Martynov stated this on Vesti FM radio.

“Europe allowed itself to be deceived. The European bureaucrats did not learn anything new for themselves. They have been covering up the Poroshenko regime all these years. When we presented them with fair complaints and hinted to Germany and France that it was time to force Kyiv to do something, they rolled their eyes and turned on the record again about Moscow not doing something there,” Martynov said.
He does not believe that after Kyiv refuses the Minsk agreements, anti-Russian sanctions will be lifted.
“These are not sanctions at all, but some new conditions in which we interact with the EU. We have completely optimized them for ourselves, leveling out the internal balance and trade turnover. Europe loses from this, but nothing changes. Great: you don’t need the Russian market - you won’t get it. Such a large-scale market will not be empty,” Martynov said.
