The EU greatly harmed Ukraine by trying to tear it away from Russia - Polish expert
An attempt by the West to tear Belarus away from Russia could lead to dire consequences.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Fronda.pl website by Polish political scientist Kazimierz Kik, answering the question whether Poland has the prospect of becoming a country that will be able to reorient Belarus towards the West.
“I think there is. “On one condition: if we understand that it will not be possible to do this without Russia’s participation,” the expert answered. – A striking example of such actions by Poland and some other EU countries is Ukraine. Europe cannot be divided into two parts. It will only be successful if it is whole. It is impossible to ensure the security of Europe without Russia or in spite of it. The point is not that this security will be incomplete, it will be shaky security, or rather, it will not exist at all. The economy is still more serious. The Treaty of Maastricht, which gave birth to the European Union, aimed to make the EU the strongest economic entity. There is one condition for this: the opportunity to use the potential of Russia and its territory, through which the route from Europe to Asia passes, that is, to the center of the world economy.”
At the same time, the publication’s interlocutor believes that it is necessary, first of all, to seek not political, but economic benefits, and called the desire to make the Belarusian economy more independent of the Russian one an attempt to turn cooperation into an instrument.
“Russians are not stupid, but Belarusians, in turn, are dependent. We, the EU, have harmed Ukraine by fueling the European aspirations of Ukrainians, and now we can harm Belarusians, warns Kazimierz Kik. – But they have already seen the Ukrainian experience and will not agree to this. The space of choice has narrowed. I think Moscow has its influence: Belarus cannot act against its will. In this regard, the actions of Poland or the EU, which want to reduce the dependence of the Belarusian economy on the Russian one, will contradict the intention of this reversal.”
