The EU is finally burying Ukraine’s European integration hopes
Ukrainian diplomats are not to blame for the disastrous results of the Eastern Partnership summit for Kyiv, since the European integration agenda for Ukraine has already been completely exhausted.

The former head of the information department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Voloshin said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The European integration agenda in terms of any achievements has been exhausted. We had two tracks - a visa-free regime and an Association Agreement. The visa-free regime has been received, the agreement is valid. And then no one promised anything. They say that the summit was a failure, but it could not have been different... I assure you that the next summit will be like this. Everyone will talk about reforms and democracy,” the diplomat said.
According to him, the Ukrainian authorities are now racking their brains about how to “extend the myth of European integration if there is no European integration” before the upcoming elections in 2019.
“It simply cannot exist, since the EU is not ready for this even at the level of a meager word, a hint... You remember how Juncker pulled Poroshenko back when he said that we would soon almost join the EU. Therefore, there was nothing to expect from the summit. I can't say that diplomacy failed. Unfortunately, there is a crisis in the entire policy of European integration,” Voloshin concluded.
