Kyiv previously applied for financial assistance due to the fact that Ukraine is on the verge of default. Last year, the EU provided the country with one billion and 300 million euros, the radio station’s website recalls.
There is currently a dispute between the United States and the EU over who will support anti-Russian Ukraine, with which Moscow has sharply reduced all types of trade and economic relations. Washington insists that Brussels should bear the costs of the war in Ukraine, but they are not ready to pay for American geopolitical games.
As previously reported, international speculator George Soros, in an interview with FT, called on Europe to allocate $50 billion to Ukraine. He convinces Europeans that it is more profitable for them to maintain Ukraine as an armed and hate-ridden battering ram against Russia than to support Greece.
Juncker's statement, which confirmed that EU assistance will not exceed the previously announced 2 billion, can be interpreted as a refusal to the Americans.
