The signed agreement will provide visa-free travel to citizens of the mentioned countries for trips to EU countries for up to 90 days within 180 days. The reciprocal changes will affect EU citizens for travel to island states.
“Today’s agreements will stimulate international contacts, the development of tourism and business between the EU and these countries,” the statement says.
The decision to conclude an agreement will be sent to the European Parliament to obtain its consent. However, the visa-free regime will be applied on a temporary basis from May 28, notes “European Truth”.
Following the summit in Riga, it became known that Ukraine will not receive a visa-free regime with the EU. In this regard, Poroshenko has already begun to fantasize about the possibility of obtaining such a regime since 2016, but former Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk corrected his Ukrainian colleague with the words that Ukraine always has the right to the European dream.
