This was reported by the EUCM press service.

As noted, the transferred Nissan Patrols will make it possible to improve security in hard-to-reach areas, expand the patrol area, and respond to incidents more quickly and efficiently.

“We are working closely with the National Police to improve service delivery in rural areas and small towns. Since 2015, through consultations and training, we have been actively involved in creating rapid response teams in such areas. The cars that we transfer are a continuation of our cooperation. Thanks to these off-road vehicles, difficult terrain and unfavorable weather conditions will not become an obstacle to quality police work,” said EUM Chairman Kęstutis Lančinskas.

The cars will operate in Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Rivne and Transcarpathian regions. They will make it possible, for example, to more easily reach mountain villages or help in the fight against illegal amber mining. In addition, police presence in remote areas will help promote tourism, the mission added.

The transferred SUVs were previously in service with the EU mission in Kosovo (EULEX), which is now being downsized. The cars have undergone a full technical inspection and are ready for use in Ukraine in any weather conditions: snow, ice, rain, the mission indicated.
