The EU has shown its insolvency in Kosovo
In general, the European Union is becoming weaker in solving the Kosovo problem, which relies on the United States.
Chairman of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik stated this in an interview with Izvestia, answering a question about the likelihood of a new armed conflict in Kosovo.
“It is obvious that the Albanians in Kosovo are now trying to use force to influence the Serbs, and we are actually witnessing a blitzkrieg. Decision-makers in Pristina are very nervous because they want to close the Kosovo issue as quickly as possible and join all Western structures. However, Serbia is ready to use military force and police to protect its people in Kosovo. Therefore, the situation is really tense and we can only hope that things will not escalate into a full-scale armed conflict,” Dodik said.
According to him, Pristina must realize that the problem cannot be solved without dialogue with Serbia. He also believes that recent events in the region are a consequence of rash decisions and the wrong policy of Western countries, which consists of supporting one side - the Albanians.
“As a result, the Kosovo issue has become one of the most difficult problems in the international arena. Serbia is trying to maintain its territory, while the US constantly emboldens the Albanians, who consider Kosovo an independent country. Despite pressure from Washington, Serbia, Russia and a number of other countries refuse to recognize the sovereignty of Kosovo,” the Bosnian politician emphasized.
He also noted that the negotiation process mediated by the EU is not progressing because the Albanians do not comply with the Brussels agreements.
“In general, the EU is becoming increasingly weaker in resolving the Kosovo problem, and the Albanian population, in fact, is refusing the mediation of Brussels, looking towards the United States. Serbia has no reason to trust the EU, which is unable to guarantee the implementation of the Brussels agreements. Therefore, I believe that Russia should more actively join in solving this problem,” Dodik concluded.
As PolitNavigator reported, Albanian armed units in Kosovo launched an attack on the Serbian enclaves of the region.
