“The EU acted like a pig, we are working with the Russians” - Lukashenko on the situation at customs
Belarus is actively opposing European sanctions in the field of customs policy. New communications are emerging, new logistics are being built, and a complete reorientation is underway in accordance with current challenges.
Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Orlovsky stated this at a meeting with the President of Belarus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for the situation at the border. Of course, due to the unprecedented sanctions of the European Union, our work has changed a lot. First of all, at the border. The fact that our trucks, Belarusian and Russian, were banned from entering the European Union left a serious imprint on our work. But within a week we organized ourselves.
We already had logistics centers along the border for this. We have added a number of sites and equipped them. We transferred the personnel to round-the-clock operation, and the work, this interchange and reloading, was established in a week,” Orlovsky said.
“That is, a truck has arrived - unhook or reload the goods, go to the European Union, then we and the Russians will work,” the Belarusian president clarified.
“Absolutely. We will use our carriers,” confirmed Orlovsky.
In turn, Lukashenko noted that the EU “acted like a pig” by terminating many joint agreements and projects.
“The European Union financed some joint programs at one time. In the field of customs, first of all, at our border. At one time they stopped helping us and supporting us in this regard. They refused to implement the programs. Well, this is complete disgusting. They promised, agreed, and then they spat on it all,” the President of Belarus complained.
