The EU spent 250 million on an ideological war in the post-Yugoslav space
In the previous period, the European Union allocated 250 million euros “to the development of civil society and media pluralism” in the Western Balkans, including Serbia.
This was stated by the press secretary of the European Commission Anna Pisonero, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The European Parliament delegation is in Belgrade and we support Serbia’s work to build confidence in the country’s upcoming electoral processes,” Pisonero said. “It is important that Serbia continues to implement the recommendations of the OSCE election observation mission and forward reports to the European Parliament mission.”
Answering a question about the work of the European Commission with independent media in Serbia, Ana Pisonero recalled that the Commission supported the media and civil society in the region in the amount of 250 million euros.
“Media pluralism is a fundamental value of a democratic society and is crucial for the transmission of quality information, facilitating decision-making by citizens,” the European official said.
