Deputy head of the National Energy Security Fund Alexey Grivach told Izvestia about this.

“The Russian side believes that Naftogaz can buy gas under the current contract by making an advance payment. Ukrainians want an additional agreement. At the same time, without purchases from Gazprom in the event of a cold winter, Ukraine will not be able to meet its gas needs. This means that the situation is potentially dangerous for transit to Europe. At any moment, unauthorized withdrawal of gas from volumes intended for Europeans may begin,” the expert warned.
