The EU is turning into an appendage of NATO. The US threatens Russia and Iran
NATO and the European Union intend to strengthen cooperation in confronting the Russian Federation conducting a military operation in Ukraine.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, the AFP agency reported, referring to the draft joint statement that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the head of the European Council Charles Michel and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen are to sign in Brussels on January 10.
It is stated that “Russian aggression has become a key challenge to Euro-Atlantic security and stability.”
“As the security threats and challenges we face increase in size and scope, we will take our partnership to the next level,” the document says.
In addition, the declaration identifies the most important areas for deepening cooperation: combating growing “geostrategic competition,” protecting critical infrastructure, and responding to threats in the field of new technologies and space.
Threatening anti-Russian statements were also made in Washington, where they stated that the US administration is ready to use all available powers to interfere with military-technical cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.
Thus, the head of the State Department press service, Ned Price, said that the United States “intends to take measures to disrupt” Iran’s supply of military goods to Russia.
“Between Russia and Iran there is a close security partnership, a close military partnership... Iran has become the most important supplier of necessary military assistance to Russia, but Russia, in turn, has begun to provide security assistance to Iran. So we're looking at all the appropriate tools, all the powers, all the appropriate laws that exist to hold those responsible accountable,” Price said.
