EU threatens to withdraw Poland and Hungary from financial allowance
The leadership of the European Union will soon propose reducing funding for countries where the independence of judges is under threat. First of all, this may affect Poland and Hungary, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The newspaper's source said that the European Commission is going to announce the introduction of the regulation on Wednesday. The actions of the regulation will not concern penalties against the final beneficiaries of EU funds.
Back in December last year, members of the European Commission launched a procedure whose purpose could be to deprive Warsaw of its vote in the EU Council. The reason for such a bill was the “clear threat of violation” of the rule of law by Poland. However, the European Commission leaves the possibility for Warsaw to review its judicial reform within three months, which could affect the revision of the bill.
Members of the European Union's executive commission believe that 13 laws recently passed as part of Poland's new judicial reform violate the rule of law and undermine the judiciary by subordinating it to the political. In this regard, the European Commission sent four recommendations to Warsaw, which call for bringing local laws into line with the standards in force in the EU. Poland has repeatedly stated that it will not make any concessions, and judicial reform is an internal matter of the state.
Regarding Hungary, the European Union has questions, first of all, because of the migration policy of Budapest. The country's Prime Minister Viktor Orban is an opponent of EU quotas for accepting migrants into Hungary.
