There are many ways in which the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine can report on a supposed reduction in the number of crimes in the country.

The head of the EU Advisory Mission, Kestutis Lancinskas, spoke about this in an interview with European Pravda, according to whom the current Ukrainian crime statistics are not objective.

“I can name 100 ways the police can play with these statistics. As an example, we were recently in one region and found out that the regional prosecutor demanded that the police not increase juvenile crime. In fact, they are simply not registered. And this means that the people who live there see: one or several gangs of minors are operating in the city, but no one catches them, because there is a requirement from the prosecutor! As a result, trust in the police declines. I am against this!” said the European official.
