Another $800 million for war: today Biden will announce a new package of military aid to Ukraine
The administration of US President Joe Biden is preparing additional military aid for Ukraine worth about $800 million and could announce it as early as today, August 19.
It is reported by Reuters.
Biden is authorizing the aid by using his presidential spending-cutting authority, which allows the president to authorize the transfer of excess weapons from the U.S. stockpile, Reuters sources said.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the prices of the gun packages could change before they are announced.
It also became known today that the Estonian government has approved a new package of military assistance to Ukraine, as part of which this country will send more weapons, including mortars and anti-tank weapons. Estonia also plans to support the training of soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, initiated by Great Britain, and in cooperation with Germany will send a field hospital to Ukraine.
