“Because of historical illiteracy and naivety, people took it for granted that they had overthrown some horrific regime. If people thought at least a little with their heads, they would understand what a dead end the country is heading into.
Because of such false messages from the authorities, the majority of journalists and the population, who wholeheartedly supported the Maidan, think that this is some kind of liberation. They did not think that they were being deceived; they came out to the Maidan in hundreds of thousands, based on the good intentions of freedom, an honest state, the fight against corruption and everything else. But they were deceived.
Then the most cynical and intelligent journalists penetrated into power and became deputies. They themselves declare that we have such an adversary, the enemy Russia, and in these conditions the authorities cannot be criticized, they cannot be questioned. And this misfortune was passed off as a benefactor.
Now they are no longer journalists, but propagandists, directly announcing that we do not need two points of view. Journalists for the most part have shown themselves to be opportunists - they run after power, wait for commands and try to carry them out,” Khisamov said.
