Another missed chance: Ukrainians lost the African market due to reluctance to invest in the future
Ukrainian agricultural machinery could have been in demand in African countries, but manufacturers missed this opportunity due to reluctance to invest in service centers at points of sale.
The director of the Scientific Research Institute of Economics (SRI) under the Ministry of Economy, Doctor of Economic Sciences Igor Mansurov, stated this at a round table in Kyiv dedicated to the security of Ukraine.

“When I worked in Africa, I came to Ukraine every year and told our enterprise directors: we can export agricultural machinery there. They need very simple and cheap technology. The only conditions are technical service centers.
All of Africa would be littered with our tractors, combines, seeders, etc. But the directors told me: wow, I will build maintenance centers there, it’s expensive.
It’s expensive, but it’s promising,” the expert described another missed chance for Ukraine.
