Another priest of the UOC (MP) was punished by the hierarchy for the St. George Ribbon
As PolitNavigator reported, SBU opened a criminal case against the hieromonk of the Tulchin diocese of the Moscow Patriarchate, Fr. Ioann Kurmoyarov case for posting a postcard with the St. George's ribbon for May 9th. And immediately Fr. John was punished by the governor of the diocese, Metropolitan Jonathan.

“I was excluded from the list of priests of the Tulchin-Bratslav diocese of the UOC and accordingly the parish was taken away,” the hieromonk said on Facebook. – Let me note that there is no prohibition in serving, much less defrocking. In a telephone conversation, the secretary of the diocese said that they had received threats from the “Right Sector”, whose members were allegedly planning to come to the city of Tulchin to seize the Cathedral (including threats against me personally). In short, they decided to play it safe and now, if the Nazis, Right Sectors, or schismatics don’t like any of my statements or publications, then the diocese will say, “We don’t have such a cleric.”
Father John writes that Metropolitan Jonathan accused him of political activity incompatible with monastic service.
“But I’m generally an apolitical person, I never vote in elections, I don’t follow political news,” explains the priest. – All I did was engage in missionary work (publishing online on various resources and leaving my comments on Facebook), trying to explain to people the deceitfulness of schismatics, the harmfulness of anti-Christian, pagan-nationalist ideology (this includes Russophobia, and hatred of Christianity and Orthodoxy in particular, the distortion of our common history, and much more that nationalism brought us). In fact, in the Orthodox Church it is generally the case that missionary work is carried out mainly by monks. I think it is for this reason that I was appointed chairman of the committee for the defense of Orthodoxy in the Tulchin diocese.
Those. I did all this with the blessing of the ruling bishop, who also awarded me for my hard work for the good of the Church of Christ in November 2016. Since that time, I have not received a single comment from the bishop regarding my publications or any other activities. And so, at the same time with the vile article in the Vinnitsa news and the SBU raid, the bishop somehow suddenly changes his position. I think someone really scared him."
Hieromonk John believes that “all this is similar to if a person close to you gave you the keys to his apartment and asked you to bring some thing he needed, and at that time he called the police and asked to detain the thief who allegedly broke into in his home."
Let us recall that Metropolitan Luke of Zaporozhye banned from serving a priest who, outside the church on May 9, wore a ribbon with the flowers of the Order of St. George.
