“One more blow and the Ukrainian energy system will not be restored until spring” - expert
Systematic “calibrations” of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure have already led to a permanent regime of rolling blackouts in Ukraine.
Economist and political scientist Alexander Dudchak spoke about this on the Sputnik in Russian channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenter asked what objects and what strikes still need to be inflicted in order for the Ukrainian energy system to be completely disabled.
“We probably need to proceed from what has been done and take an inventory—this will probably be difficult—of what remains. These are the substations and transformers that ensure the supply of electricity between regions from nuclear power plants to other stations. This is the disabling of thermal power plants, hydroelectric power stations, it is clear that no one will strike at nuclear power plants, but I think they will continue to work on such key points on the map.
And so today we already see serious consequences. But if such a blow is dealt again, I think it will be almost impossible to restore it before spring.
And now they have already moved from a regime of rolling blackouts to a regime of, rather, rolling inclusions; a huge part of the country is already in a state of blackout,” Dudchak noted.
