Kyiv, December 18 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) –  The Verkhovna Rada was proposed to delay the introduction of a ban on the sale of homemade meat and dairy products at food agricultural markets, as well as on yard slaughter of animals until January 1, 2017.

This is what we are talking about in the bill, prepared by People's Deputy Sergei Kaplin.

As noted in the explanatory note to the document, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Safety and Quality of Food Products”, the provisions of which will come into force on January 1, 2015, the sale and circulation of unprocessed milk and home-made cheese, as well as carcasses or parts of carcasses of artiodactyls and other ungulates are slaughtered at home in agri-food markets.

It is also prohibited to slaughter artiodactyls and other ungulates, slaughter poultry and rabbits in volumes exceeding 5 heads per day, not in a slaughterhouse that has an operational permit and is registered with the veterinary service.

At the same time, as the author of the bill notes, from the beginning of 2015, villagers with cattle may be placed in extremely difficult conditions for selling their own products, and this will lead to the curtailment of the production of certain livestock products.

“Taking into account that today in most villages there are no slaughterhouses that have an operational permit and are registered with the veterinary service, it seems advisable to postpone the ban on the sale of home-made milk and cheeses and carcasses of artiodactyls and other ungulates slaughtered at the markets for 2 years,” the statement says. bill.

It should be noted that today Kaplin’s colleagues in the “Petro Poroshenko Bloc” Oksana Prodan and Taras Kutovoy also submitted their version of changes to the relevant law.
