Kyiv, February 27 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Donbass can remain part of Ukraine only on the condition that the central government in Kyiv changes, which will not have such a negative attitude towards the inhabitants of the region. Political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this on the talk show “Evening”.

According to him, while a punitive operation is being carried out in the Donbass at the instigation of the country’s leadership, it is impossible to talk about the integration of the DPR and LPR with Ukraine.

“In Kyiv, the government must seriously change. It will not be possible to return Donbass by saying the same things they have been saying all this year. By and large, the power in Kyiv needs to change, and a different president is needed, and a prime minister, and the Verkhovna Rada. Then Ukraine has a real chance to remain within these borders,” Mikheev believes.
