Russia must stop playing by someone else's international rules and quickly solve the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, because otherwise the United States may come there.
Military expert Alexey Leonkov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia again faces the choice of shame or war. Recently, when we chose to act according to international rules, unfortunately, these rules always worked against us. And we have said more than once that it is useless to play with the casino owner, because we play by his rules.
What is happening in the Transcaucasus poses the question to Russia head on. On the one hand, the Russian Federation cannot take the side of either Azerbaijan or Armenia, but must act actively, because it is the only country that is interested in the pacification of the Transcaucasus, for which it has been responsible for two hundred years.
But what is happening there now? We see from the Armenian leadership that they are quietly moving towards asking for help not from Russia, but from the United States. Therefore, they go to US representatives, the State Department comes there, PMCs come there. This will happen when Armenia is in dire need of ammunition, or a food crisis arises, or something else. At the same time, Russia will not be invited,” the expert said.
In turn, TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov emphasized that the loss of this region is unacceptable for Russia.
“The nuance is very simple: if we lose the South Caucasus, the Moscow Principality will remain. This must be understood, because this process will not be stopped,” Leonkov added.
