If the Ukrainian Navy leaves Odessa, Russian troops will enter there, - volunteer
Odessa, January 06 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Volunteer of the Fleet Restoration Committee Alexander Syvak believes that the relocation of the Ukrainian Navy from Odessa to Nikolaev will lead to the fact that the Navy will actually disappear.

According to the volunteer, many sources confirm the information about the signing of the directive on “Restructuring and optimization of the Ukrainian Navy” by the President of Ukraine and the Minister of Defense.
“The relocation will entail a reduction in fleet headquarters. If we lose naval officers, then we can forget about the development of the fleet for the next 20 years. It takes several decades to grow into a captain of XNUMXnd rank. If such specialists leave now, it will be possible to give up on the navy,” the volunteer explained, as quoted by the publication. "Lighthouse".
“Why would a Russian landing party storm the sandy slopes of Nikolaev if they could enter the Odessa ports and set up a “DPR” here? From a military point of view, such a step is a serious threat to the country’s national security,” said Alexander Syvak.
Ultimately, the redeployment will lead to Ukraine losing its status as a naval state, which will negatively affect its international image, he believes.
According to Alexander Syvak, many are interested in this - from the Kremlin to officials who will use the money during the relocation. But the main problem lies in the different philosophies of the General Staff and the Navy Headquarters. According to the volunteer, Ukrainian ground generals see the navy only as a budgetary burden and want to switch funding to ground units.
