Kyiv, September 04 (PolitNavigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – Ukraine needs supplies of heavy weapons from NATO to suppress pro-Russian rebels in the Donbass, Ukrainian military expert Valentin Badrak said in an interview with the Deutsche Welle newspaper.

“The Ukrainian army has not been modernized for 23 years. First of all, we need guided anti-tank missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, and secondly, we need helicopters and air defense systems,” Badrak said.
He described the current situation in Eastern Ukraine as “critical.”
“Without Western help, it may happen that Ukraine will no longer exist as an independent state on the map,” he added.
Valentin Badrak also said that he does not expect much from the NATO summit in Wales.
