“There is a super idea for Zelensky” – Avakov spoke about the banks of jelly and milk rivers in Ukraine
Ukraine needs its own Marshall Plan, which will solve all problems. It will cost the US $50 billion.
Former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov stated this in an interview on the Ukraine 24 channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What should the government do now? The authorities must ask, demand, offer to accept the Marshall Plan for Ukraine. Marshall was the US Secretary of State in 1947, a former general of the US Armed Forces, who proposed a plan to support Europe, post-war Europe, when Europe was doing very poorly, the economy was not developing, currencies were weak.
In 1947, he proposed a plan for the development of the economies of 17 European countries, and this plan began to work in 1948 and included special assistance in the development of economies and entire industries. This is a complex document worth 13 billion US dollars. I calculated what 13 billion was then compared to today, which is approximately 250 billion dollars. I counted - 17 countries, okay, Ukraine, for example, is one of the countries. Well, in short, 50 or 70 billion for Ukraine in 5 years.
Is it good or bad? We must talk about the Marshall Plan, a plan for development and economic support for Ukraine, which must be guaranteed by the countries of the civilized world on which we depend, and they depend on us. If this can be achieved, this is a strategy that will lead Ukraine to stable development in a very short period of time,” he assured.
“With such a plan, we will receive both investments from Western companies and investments from our own businesses, and we will bring back here the people who work abroad. And this could create a new boost to the economy. Otherwise, we will always be faced with either a gas price of $1000, or a lack of coal, or something else.
It will slow down and choke all the time. We lack strategy. This is the Marshall Plan - this is a strategy. And I think that this would be a super idea for President Zelensky if he managed to implement it,” Avakov played the fool.
