Evgeny Popov called for help for volunteers at the border and an end to the nagging at customs
The State Duma of the Russian Federation intends to resolve with the Federal Customs Service the issue of moving humanitarian aid across the border for military personnel taking part in the Northern Military District in Ukraine. If understanding cannot be reached, an appeal to the Russian government will be accepted.
This topic was raised today at a parliamentary meeting by United Russia deputy Evgeny Popov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When they have already collected it, they are faced with the fact that they cannot transport it across the border. Customs says: you are bringing it for sale. It may be possible to introduce some temporary rules. This is really necessary: walkie-talkies, sights, body armor, helmets,” Popov said.
According to him, he has already received thousands of requests.
Also, on Popov’s initiative, the State Duma Security Committee will consider the issue of the movement of refugees from territories controlled by the Kyiv regime.
“Huge queues of Ukrainian citizens have accumulated who are trying to leave the territories controlled by Ukraine to the territory controlled by Russia or Russian territory. What happens there: filtering or checking - little is known about this, but the queues are kilometer long. Often people are forced to turn around and return with children and the elderly. We need to develop a temporary entry procedure,” Popov said.
