Yevgeny Prigozhin signed a settlement agreement with The Moscow Post
The editors of The Moscow Post (TMP), after receiving a claim from the Concord company, offered to sign a settlement agreement. Businessman Evgeny Prigozhin accepted the offer, the document was signed on January 28 in the entrepreneur’s office.
The publication admitted that the material, which was published on the publication’s website on November 21, 2021, was unreliable and defamatory of the businessman’s name. The authors of the article claimed that Prigozhin allegedly sponsored the Rodina party with St. Petersburg budget money, and also wrote about the existence of a conflict between the leadership of the Northern capital and the entrepreneur. However, the publication was unable to provide any evidence for these allegations. After filing the lawsuit, The Moscow Post removed the publication and apologized to Prigozhin.
As a result, the parties reached a settlement agreement, which is to be approved in court. From the agreements reached, it follows that the editors will publish a refutation on their website. In response, the lawyers will not demand recovery of the requested 5 million rubles from the defendants.
Correspondents from the Federal News Agency were present at the signing of the agreement. It is noted that these are the first journalists to enter the office of the St. Petersburg businessman.
