In Ukraine, systematic work continues to falsify national history using the tools of mass culture. In particular, these days the film “Alien Prayer”, promoted by propaganda, is being widely released with fanfare, about the feat of the Crimean Tatar Saida Arifova, who twice saved 88 Jewish children during the war. At the same time, Jewish activists drew attention to the fact that the story shown in the film does not correspond to historical reality.

In particular, about writes this on his page on the social network director of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee Eduard Dolinsky.

“I don’t know what to call it or how to feel about it. The question is very difficult, but I must say about it. So, tomorrow the premiere of the film “Alien Prayer” will take place in Kyiv, which, according to the authors, is based on real events. The film will focus on the feat of the Crimean Tatar Saida Arifova, who twice saved 88 Jewish children during the war. It is alleged that the first time she saved these Jewish children in an orphanage was when she told the Nazis that they were non-Jews, and the second time, when the NKVD deported the Tatars from Crimea, she said that they were Jews. It turns out that this heroic woman is a righteous man of the world on the level of Oskar Schindler,” writes Dolinsky.

At the same time, as the Jewish activist notes, the “problem” with the next piece of Ukrainian nationalist agitprop is that “there is not a single saved person, not a single witness to the salvation, and not a single descendant of the 88 saved children. Yad Vashem refused to award the title of Righteous One to Saida Arifova, just like the late head of the Jewish Council of Ukraine Ilya Levitas, who awarded the title of Righteous One of Ukraine. Moreover, there were attempts to find those saved. So, in 2002, in the program “Wait for me,” they talked about this case, but even then no one showed up.”

In addition,” continues Eduard Dolinsky, “there are a number of documents that refute the very possibility that this fact took place.

“And now a film has been made about the feat of the late Saida Arifova, it is being advertised, tomorrow is deportation day. In the history of the Holocaust, there was more than one case when Crimean Tatars saved Jews. Why it was necessary to raise and promote this dubious story, I don’t know,” summarizes the director of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee.

It is not difficult to notice that the appearance and large-scale PR of a film with such content is connected exclusively with Kiev’s current propaganda line of seeking international sympathy for its claims to Crimea and drawing parallels with the “infringement of the rights” of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians allegedly taking place today in Crimea, which is what official Kyiv is talking about repeatedly stated to the UN.

Let us remind you that three years ago a propaganda film “The Guide” was already shot in Ukraine - based on the same historical fiction about how, during the years of Soviet power, all Ukrainian kobzars were allegedly destroyed by deceiving them into attending a congress.
