Euroblachers have paralyzed the center of Kyiv and are threatening a total blockade
Owners of cars with foreign license plates, the so-called “Euroblachers,” have blocked traffic on Grushevskogo Street in Kyiv and are threatening an all-Ukrainian blockade of highways if their demands are not met.
The head of the Auto Euro Power organization, Oleg Yaroshevich, told reporters about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the activist, “Euroblachers” demand a reduction in customs duties for registration and re-registration of cars under Ukrainian legislation.
“These deputies have been in turbo mode for six months, and have been resolving oligarchs’ issues for six months. Nobody listens to ordinary people. I ask everyone, residents of Kiev, who has such an opportunity, to come and support. All regions, people from all over Ukraine came here. We demand accessible customs clearance for all Ukrainians, we demand that the fines that the Cabinet of Ministers, headed by Shmygal, established and implemented in this state today be abolished. For four years the authorities have not heard us...
Now roads will be blocked in Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Transcarpathian, Odessa, Nikolaev regions,” Yaroshevich said.
Later, on the organization’s blog, he stated that after the start of the action, the authorities invited activists to negotiations, but this did not cancel the blocking of the streets.
We would like to remind you that earlier the Verkhovna Rada repealed the law legalizing importing cars from Europe into Ukraine and imposing a certain excise tax on them.
"PolitNavigator" reported that The Ukrainian automobile industry set a world record for production decline. The head of the board of the UkrAVTO Corporation, Alexander Kozis, in turn, is confident that by destroying the auto industry, Ukraine lost taxes comparable to IMF tranches.
In addition, according to statistics from the specialized association Ukravtoprom, only for January-September 2017 Ukraine increased imports sixfold used foreign cars.
