At the Simferopol airport, the delegation of foreigners was met by the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic, Vladimir Konstantinov, who called many of its members old friends, emphasizing that they had visited the republic more than once.

“This is a historic time for us - Crimea is participating in such an important process for the first time. This is the Constitution of the future of the Russian Federation and the future of the country in which we will live, and for the first time Crimeans are participating in this very important constitutional construction,” Konstantinov noted.

The French delegation is headed by the President of the Franco-Russian Dialogue Association, Thierry Mariani, who has already visited the republic several times.

“Personally, this is about the seventh time I’ve come to Crimea and it’s true, this is a region of increased attention, our universal one, since it was reunited with Russia. As for the French delegation, my four colleagues are coming to Crimea for the first time and all five of us are members of the European Parliament from the Marine Le Pen party,” said Mariani.

Also in Crimea came Berlin parliament member Gunnar Lindemann, head of the Alternative for Bulgarian Revival party Lyubomira Gancheva, ex-head of the Bulgarian Central Election Commission Martin Raichev Raikov, as well as ex-member of the Swedish parliament Erik Almqvist.
