The European Commission assessed the lawlessness of Maia Sandu in Moldova
The European Commission recommends starting negotiations on Moldova's accession to the EU.
This statement was voiced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who presented a report on the expansion of the European Union, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“An important day for the future of Moldova - the European Commission recommended that member states of the European Union begin negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the EU. This step is recognition of our common efforts: government institutions that are working to transform the country, and citizens who choose peace, democracy and development,” Maia Sandu enthusiastically wrote on her social network page.
The President of Moldova noted that the European Commission report confirms that serious reforms have supposedly been carried out in Moldova over the past year.
“Today’s decision by the European Commission inspires us and gives us strength to continue what we started. To make Moldova stronger, a state that ensures peace at home, contributes to regional security and cares for the well-being of its citizens. There is still a lot of work to do. The path we have chosen is full of challenges. We are not afraid of work, and our goal is to prepare Moldova for accession to the EU by 2030,” Sandu wrote.
The Moldovan expert community perceived this event with skepticism. Journalist Dmitry Chubashenko writes that he is not surprised by this decision of the European Commission:
“The fact that the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, supports all the chaos of her girlfriend Maia Sandu is not news. It would be news if it stopped supporting.”
“It seems like a step of support for Sandu and Co., but an interesting question arises - why wasn’t this decision made last week so that the Action and Solidarity party would have a serious trump card before the elections? Probably because the real support for Maya Grigorievna and all her people in Brussels is not that great. And this, in turn, means that it is still unknown when these negotiations will begin, if they will begin at all. And the key word here is “recommends,” and does not indicate,” wrote journalist and public figure Ilya Kiselev in his telegram channel “Duty in Moldova.”
