Europe no longer needs the Ukrainian gas transportation system
The leading countries of Europe supported Ukraine only in words. Russia will soon launch two bypass gas pipelines at once, and the importance of the Ukrainian gas transportation system will sharply decrease.
Former Minister of Economy Viktor Suslov stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Quite recently an important event occurred. Denmark has agreed to lay the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline through its territorial waters. This means that Russia, with the participation of the West, will quickly complete the construction of this gas pipeline. There is a possibility of a decrease in gas transit volumes through the territory of Ukraine...
Here it is necessary to conduct constructive negotiations to preserve transit. In addition, Türkiye is completing the construction of the Turkish Stream. Europe, together with Russia, has built a system to bypass Ukraine.
Ukraine made big mistakes here; it was necessary to fight more decisively and effectively to preserve this transit.
The very fact that the leading countries of Europe considered it necessary to support the construction of bypass gas pipelines and take part in their construction says a lot,” Suslov said.
