The President of the Russian Federation has many trump cards in his hands, which he is ready to play in order to forever secure the status of Crimea as Russian territory.
Ukrainian journalist and TV presenter Dmitry Gordon said this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the Russian leader wants his European colleagues to lift sanctions and recognize the status of Crimea in exchange for a number of concessions on his part.
“To put it simply, what is the point? Putin took the cards for himself, picked up a few trump cards in order to remove the tension and keep Crimea for himself. That is, the maximum task is that Crimea remains part of the Russian Federation. And this is not a question discussed from now on, but we give up Donbass, we give up Syria, and you lift all sanctions. And we are friends as before. That is, Putin remains with Crimea and as if nothing had happened. Europe is ready to joyfully throw itself into Putin’s arms. This is evidenced by many factors, starting from the visits of Merkel, Macron and other European leaders to the unshakable Putin. They shook hands that didn’t shake hands,” Gordon said.
