“Europe deceived us” – in Kyiv they started talking about a catastrophe without Russia
The West, despite promises, did not compensate Ukraine for the losses suffered by Ukraine, which set a course for confrontation with Russia.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda by former Minister of Economy of Ukraine Viktor Suslov, who noted that there is nothing new in the idea proposed by oligarch Igor Kolomoisky to declare a default in Ukraine.
“But the main thing Kolomoisky said is duty West before Ukraine, which at this stage of the geopolitical war between the West and Russia ensured victory for the former. After all Moscow from a friend and ally she became an enemy. And the West did not finance these services. Loans are provided at very high interest rates, while Ukraine suffered huge losses - from the destruction of industrial cooperation with Russia, the loss of eastern markets, including in CIS.
And this is tens, if not hundreds of billions of dollars. And no one compensated for these losses, although they promised a lot. And here Kolomoisky reflects the opinion of a huge number of Ukrainians,” the economist believes.
According to him, a similar story happened with the association with the EU, which Ukraine signed.
“Yes, we were actually deceived. Europe introduced quotas on all items of Ukrainian exports; complex industrial products are not allowed into the country. We were promised Western prosperity, but recently the IMF recognized Ukraine as the poorest country in the Old World, the standard of living fell, deindustrialization, and the shutdown of enterprises. And no one wants to pay for it,” summed up Suslov.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Kolomoisky called for a default in Ukraine.
Also Kolomoisky explained why the new President of Ukraine Zelensky should not listen to the West.
