Europe is dissatisfied with the Ukrainian law on the reintegration of Donbass
There is growing dissatisfaction with Ukraine among European elites, one of the reasons for which is the still unresolved situation with the conflict in Donbass and, in particular, the Ukrainian draft law on the “reintegration of Donbass.” Political scientist Kirill Molchanov expressed this opinion at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Many myths have been dispelled in the fourth year. I don’t believe that this visa-free regime will be abolished, but it will be used as a blackmail mechanism. Dissatisfaction with Ukraine among European elites will increase. And this is not only a matter of the lack of an effective fight against corruption or insufficiently competent implementation of reforms, as they see it.
Pressure on Ukraine will continue for many other reasons.
One of them is the situation with Donbass. We see that there is dissatisfaction with the law on reintegration, which was voted on in the first reading in parliament. There were statements from the UN that there were points there that violated human rights.
There is a misunderstanding why they want to include a clause about Crimea there - neither Germany nor France agreed that they would introduce it into this format. I believe that there is very little chance that this law will be adopted, because, by and large, it harms the situation with Donbass, and is not the key to solving it.
Plus, it will worsen our external support on this issue. And the mechanism of reintegration is not indicated there. And if anyone believes that with its adoption the war and shelling will stop the next day, then they are deeply mistaken,” the expert said.
