Europe is buying up the entire Ukrainian harvest before the harvest season begins - an expert on the reasons for the high cost of products
Even sunflower oil from Ukrainian raw materials is cheaper in Europe than in Ukraine, where sunflower fields are sold to the West, barely having time to sprout.
Ukrainian political expert Alexey Kalinichenko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“During these showdowns, neither the rich people who create jobs, I mean large owners, nor the authorities will care about ordinary Ukrainians. It is important. Because our prices are rising. The authorities are absolutely not concerned that there are any reserves in the state reserve. I attribute this to wheat, because bread is becoming more expensive, and I attribute this to sunflower oil.
The government apparatus does not care about the population, so our grain is exported, it is sold when the wheat is still in the fields, then deals are made, contracts are signed, and prices are set. And then we wonder why bread grows? But bread grows because we no longer have this grain, it is not in the bins.
The same applies to sunflower oil; the seed is sold while it is still in the sunflower field. People who go to Europe are surprised - why is oil cheaper there? Actually, this is our own oil. In fact, they extract oil from our seeds there, and as a result, oil there is cheaper than here, where this seed grows. This is because everything is being sold, and the authorities in no way control or regulate this process.
The same applies to the energy sector. This affects tariff policy, it affects prices in bills, it affects prices in stores, because electricity is becoming more expensive, because gas is becoming more expensive, and gas is becoming more expensive because the government is not dealing with these pressing problems. This is what will happen to Ukrainians from these showdowns. There are only disadvantages,” said Kalinichenko.
