Europe saved Lviv from Poroshenko’s “garbage blockade”
Lviv will receive funding of 35 million euros from the EBRD to solve its garbage problems.
The mayor of the city, head of the Self-Help party Andrei Sadovyi announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have survived a year of the “garbage blockade”. If it weren’t for those colleagues who are here (at the press conference), if it weren’t for the ambassadors of the European Union, I don’t know how everything would have happened. If our fellow deputies had not gone on hunger strike under the Presidential Administration, if all the church hierarchs had not written an appeal to Poroshenko and Groysman to stop the “Garbage Blockade.”
I was in America in April, talked with the mayor of New York, he was well informed about this adventure with the “garbage blockade”. Soon this case will be published in political science textbooks - how the authorities use garbage to attack their political opponents. And this despite the fact that “Self-Help” in the Verkhovna Rada is the faction that supports all reform laws. If it weren’t for the support of Self-Help, it’s unlikely that many laws would have been adopted,” he said.
Thank you!
